Philly Foodies Unite At Upcoming Food Events!

Philly Food

Visit a Philly food festival to try new flavors this month!

If you love food, you’ve come to the right city. Great food in Philly is constantly being documented in well-known publications like Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, GQ and more, and we’re not just talking about Philly cheesesteak! As your Philadelphia real estate team, we’re here to fill you in on the food scene.

While you can try each restaurant out, one at a time, at your convenience, there are also events that make it easier to try more food at one time! Here are a few noteworthy foodie events coming up in a Philadelphia neighborhood near you:

  • Manyunk Restaurant Week takes place twice a year, and it’s running right now through April 21! Try out a new restaurant in this neighborhood and take advantage of one of the three-course, prix fixe menus. Prices range from $15, $25 and $35, so there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re in the taste for Mexican, Barbecue, Thai, Italian or good ol’ American, there’s an option for you. Check out the list of participating restaurants!
  • Caribbean Cuisine Week will take place April 25-28 in Philly. If you need an excuse to dine out and indulge in delicious Caribbean food, this is it! Proceeds from participating restaurants help raise funds for economically disadvantaged student athletes from around the world who wish to compete in the Penn Relays. It’s a win-win! From fried plantains to jerk chicken, this is a great opportunity to branch out with new food dishes while supporting a great cause.
  • Head to South Philly on April 30 for Flavors on the Avenue: A Street Festival! Just look for the large tent in a lot between Tasker and Morris. Here, you can taste delicious dishes from dozens of neighborhood chefs and restaurants all under one tent. Make a day of it too, because aside from the amazing food, you can enjoy a music zone, an art zone, an activity zone and a neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt. How fun is that?! Tickets include a dish from each participating restaurant and two beers or wines.

That completes April. In May, look forward to the Philadelphia Wine Festival on May 5, South Street Spring Festival May 6, Phoenixville Food Festival May 6, Philadelphia Taco Festival May 13, and the ever-favorite Rittenhouse Row Spring Fest on May 20!

We’re telling you, Philly loves its food, and there is no shortage of ways to get out and try new culinary creations. If you’ve got a favorite food event in Philadelphia, leave a comment and give it a shout out! We love to hear where others are hanging out and spending their time.

Make Philly your permanent home and spend as much time as you wish indulging in all of the food this city has to offer. Contact us, your Philly real estate team, when you are ready to buy a Philadelphia condo, or when ready to sell your Philly home! We’re here and ready to help. Cheers!
