Cool off in Philadelphia this summer!

Let’s face it, summer in Philadelphia can get hot! As your Philly real estate team, we’re here to fill you in on where to go to cool off this summer in the city. If you’ve got your own favorite hangout that is cool, leave a comment and share it with us!

Here are a few of our choices for where to cool off this summer in Philly:

1.  Here’s something you may not have known about the great city of Philadelphia. It has more public pools per capita than any other city in the U.S.! So, when you need to cool off on a hot summer day, you’ve got more than 70 public pools to choose from!

2.  If you, like me, would like to join the waiting list for a private swim club in Philly, check these out! Some of them have a long waitlist, but it’s worth looking into. They include the Lombard Swim Club, the North Shore Beach Club, the University City Swim Club and others. These have more of a party, adults-only atmosphere! (I have been on the waiting list for 3 years for Lombard Swim Club, only 7 more to go!)

3.  Head to the Delaware River Waterfront! It’s always cooler by the water. Hang out at one of the urban beaches, such as Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest or Spruce Street Harbor Park. Stroll along Penn’s Landing or hang out in the shade at Race Street Pier. Take a scenic ferry ride out on the water. You’ve got lots of waterfront options, and you can sip on cool cocktails while you’re there!

4.  There are lakes, rivers and ‘watering holes’ in or near Philly that you can legally take a dip in if you’re looking for a more natural way to cool off. Bellmawr Lake is about 20 minutes from Center City. Atsion Recreation Area is about 50 minutes from the city. Lake Absegami is another great option, with canoeing, kayaking and hiking as well. These make for great day trips!

5.  Hang out in the A/C. When all else fails, just get inside and cool off! There are plenty of attractions all over Philly that would be happy to cool you off. Check out the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the new Museum of the American Revolution, or any other attraction you haven’t seen. Or, head to a movie, a bar, or invite people over to your Philly home! OR you can buy one of amazing listings with Central Air Conditioning. Just call us right away, Philly homes are flying off the shelves!

While we’re out and about, we love to cool off with cold-brew coffees in the morning at a local coffee shop, cold beers in the evening at a local beer garden, and ice cream mid-day. Where are your favorite places around Philadelphia to grab these cool summertime treats?

Stay cool this summer in Philly! If looking to buy or sell a home in the Philly real estate market, contact us. Our Philly real estate team is here to help! And don’t worry, we’ll make sure the A/C is on when you’re attending a showing or open house! We can’t wait to hear from you.
